This Website
Portfolio/blog site created by and for yours truly.
– Present
Overview
When I decided it was finally time to make this website, I had a few main criteria in mind: It had to effectively present the notable work I’ve done (obviously), it had to be 100% static, and it had to be a little shiny. It also wanted it to serve as an opportunity to sharpen my web development skills and bring them together into a cohesive, presentable product. I’m certain, at the very least, that it’s been a super fun and productive learning experience and that it is indeed 100% static, but I’ll let you be the judge of the rest.
Notable Features
- Well structured, semantic HTML that works well with assistive technology and renders sensibly with CSS disabled.
- 99.9% handwritten, stylish CSS.
- Did I mention it’s 100% static?
Development
This site is developed with Astro and hosted on ?. Learning what Astro was gave me the final push to get started on this project, as it was almost exactly what I had been wishing for: I wanted to use components and have them pre-rendered into static html files, and I wanted to write blog posts in Markdown. I hadn’t dabbled much with modern web frameworks until now, and I’ve been really impressed with the developer experience.
